To engage South Shuswap residents and visitors in creative collaborations that enrich and transform lives through arts and culture creation, celebration and participation.
The Arts Council for the South Shuswap is a registered non-profit society dedicated to strengthening arts and culture in the South Shuswap. We support and deliver programs such as FACES Performing Arts, Music by the Bay, and the Small Hall Music Crawl, creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, create, and experience the arts close to home.
Our work is rooted in accessibility and community. Through grants and donations, we keep programs affordable for families while fairly compensating skilled instructors. With a strong focus on youth arts education, confidence building, and creative growth, we provide professional instruction and meaningful performance opportunities in a supportive environment.
Our events also support and showcase talented local and regional musicians, offering them a platform to share their work and connect with the community. Our goal is simple: to ensure the arts remain an active, valued, and accessible part of life in the South Shuswap.
FACES Performing Arts offers music, dance, and theatre programs for youth, focused on building confidence, creativity, and strong foundational skills. Classes are led by experienced instructors and supported by performance opportunities that encourage personal growth and self expression. Programs are welcoming and accessible, creating a positive environment where young people can learn and grow through the arts.
Music by the Bay is a free, all ages outdoor concert series held during the summer months in the South Shuswap. These events bring the community together to enjoy live music in a relaxed, open air setting featuring local and regional performers. The series is designed to be accessible and welcoming, offering a shared space to gather and connect through live music.
The Small Hall Music Crawl is an annual winter and spring concert series hosted in small community halls across the South Shuswap. These ticketed events feature local and regional musicians in intimate indoor settings, creating a focused listening experience. The series supports live music, local venues, and meaningful community gatherings.
